Annotations

There are three types of annotations you can add to any media:

Annotation commenting options

  • Arrow – Click to post
  • Cross-out eye – Make post private (only visible to the author)
  • Video – Make a video annotation
  • Microphone – Make an audio annotation
  • Paper clip – Attach a video/audio file

Text Annotation

Add a Text comment:

  1. Type your comment
  2. (Optional)
  3. Click on the post icon (audio/video) or Save(images, PDFs, replies)

Audio Annotation

Audio annotations can be added in two ways:

  1. Record Audio Comment – record audio within CLAS and post it as an annotation
  2. Attach Audio Comment – upload an audio file from your computer and attach it as an annotation

Record audio comment:

  1. Click on the microphone icon in the comment box
  2. Click on Allow to grant your browser permission to use your microphone
  3. Click Start Recording to record your audio. Click Stop Recording once finished
  4. Type your comment in the text box
  5. Click on Save

Attach audio comment

  1. Click on the paperclip icon in the comment box
  2. Click on Choose File and select your audio file from your computer
  3. Click on Upload and wait for the upload status to turn green
  4. Type your comment in the text box
  5. Click on Save

Video Annotation

Video annotations can be added in two ways:

  1. Record Video Comment – record video within CLAS and post it as an annotation
  2. Attach Video Comment – upload a video file from your computer and attach it as an annotation

Record video comment:

  1. Click on the camera icon in the comment box
  2. Click on Allow when the Adobe Flash prompt appears
  3. Record your video
  4. Type your text in the box
  5. Click on Save

Attach video comment:

  1. Click on the paperclip icon
  2. Click on Choose File and select your video file from your computer
  3. Click on Upload and wait for the upload status to turn green
  4. Type the text of your comment in the box
  5. Click on Save

NOTES:

  • Check off the Private checkbox to make the comment visible only to yourself. (for replies, the comment will be visible to you and the author of the comment you are replying to)
  • Include clickable hyperlinks in annotations by starting with http://. The links will automatically open up in a new window.
