Student enrolments for SIS-Linked courses are automatically populated and updated twice daily.
- Click Manage from the left hand menu.
- Click New Course.
- Select the Season of when this course will be offered (e.g. Winter, Summer)
- Select Course collection (auto enrollment list from SIS)
- Fill out the course information
- Campus (UBC Vancouver or UBC Okanagan)
- Department: (e.g. ENGL)
- Course number (e.g. 101)
- Section number (e.g. 001)
- Include Instructor(s) and TA(s) CWLs that require access to this course.
- Click Create Course.
Creating a Cross listed/Multi-section course
- Follow the instructions above to create a course
- Go to Manage > Import Student List from SIS to add students from the other course codes (see instructions for Import Users from SIS)
- Go to Manage > Course Settings
- Select the course from the drop-down
- Click on the Pencil Icon
- Edit the the course name to include the other course codes
- Click on the Checkmark Icon to save
NOTES:
- Additional users (Instructors and TAs) can be added after the course is created. See instructions here.
- Students should be added automatically through the SIS sync
- You can manually force an update by using the Import Student List from SIS tool if needed (example: student was recently registered for the course in the middle of the day and requires immediate access).
- Invitation/enrolment links should not be provided for SIS-Linked courses as they will create duplicate accounts in CLAS.
